West MI Chapter Updates
2021 ASHRAE Northern Section of West Michigan Chapter Fishing Extravaganza was once again a success. There were some very successful Charter Fishing trips with lots of fish being caught. I would like to thank all the sponsors who supported this event. The weather was nice and not have to fight the wind, we only had to fight the fish. I would also like to thank, Daydreamer Fishing Charters – Ben Orr, who put together the fleet of boats for our event. There were Chinook Salmon, Lake Trout, Cisco and a Small Mouth Bass caught this year. MacAire’s boat landed the largest chinook salmon at 22.0 lbs. caught by Robert Joba, Robert’s’s name will be engraved on the trophy plaque, and he has the bragging rights for this year’s fishing event.

Distinguished Lecturer
Dr. Kishor Khankari, Ph.D. is President and owner at AnSight LLC in Ann Arbor. He provides engineering solutions and insights through CFD analysis. Kishor has 30 years of experience in providing optimized HVAC solutions to a wide variety of applications involving plume dispersion from stack exhaust and cooling towers, displacement ventilation, natural ventilation, radiant heating and cooling, and similar other HVAC applications. Dr. Khankari has developed a patented technology of a wind band design of exhaust fan assembly systems.
A noted expert in CFD, he has a Ph.D. from the University of Minnesota and has been regularly published in several technical journals and trade magazines. Dr. Khankari has made over 100 DL presentations worldwide on topics related to design and optimization of HVAC systems and also at various technical conferences and professional meetings. Dr. Kishor Khankari is a Fellow member of ASHRAE and a recipient of ASHRAE Distinguished and Exceptional Service Award. He served on several ASHRAE committees. He is the past President of Detroit ASHRAE Chapter, past Chair of ASHRAE Technical Committee TC9.11 Clean Spaces, and past Chair of Research Administration Committee (RAC). He currently serves on the ASHRAE Board as Director-at-Large (DAL). He is currently leading a Multi Task Group (MTG) on Air Change Rates.
