President's Report

Hello, fellow ASHRAE members. As we close 2025, I wanted to take a second to thank all of you for your participation and support for our Western Michigan Chapter. 
2025 was an exciting year for our chapter. Here are a few highlights:
  • Tours in all 3 of our regions (Gordon Food Service in Grand Rapids, Kalamazoo Country Club in Kalamazoo, Keen Technical Solutions in Traverse City)
  • A total of 23 technical presentations between our three locations
  • Two fishing events, a shooting event, and our 94th annual golf outing raised a grand total of $10,787 for ASHRAE research
  • Two Young Engineers in ASHRAE (YEA) events -- a Griffins game and a pedal pub in Grand Rapids

  • A social ice-skating evening in Traverse City

So, thanks again for showing up, participating, volunteering, donating, and making 2025 a great year for ASHRAE in Western Michigan. And thanks to our board for all their hard work. 

I'm wishing you all a fun, happy, and restorative holiday season. We look forward to seeing you in 2026!

West MI Chapter Updates

2026 ASHRAE Technology Awards Region V

Our ASHRAE chapter is now accepting applications for the 2026 Technical Awards. For full details and access to the latest application form, please visit the ASHRAE website. Additional guidance, judging criteria, and FAQs are included in the appendix of the application form. Submission due dates are listed below.

  • This year’s Region V Technology Award Submission will be due on February 6, 2026, by 5PM to [email protected].
  • If your project is selected by the region, Society Submissions will be due on May 26, 2026, by 5PM to [email protected].
